Launched January 2014, this countywide program has been developed to change the way that Orange County generates electricity.  Participants are able to go solar for as little as $0 upfront with a monthly payments less than current electric bill rates, and receive a significant Federal tax credit. While the state rebate has been fully exhausted for Southern California Edison residential customers, substantial cash-back incentives will be paid to Orange County Solar Program participants in order to encourage residential property owners to go solar.

The Orange County Solar Program is available to homeowners residing in Orange County and is limited to 500 participants. You must have a signed contract with Sullivan Solar Power by 5:00 p.m. PST on December 31, 2014. There are three incentive milestones, and those who sign up first will receive the largest incentives. Homeowners in Orange County can receive cash-back incentives up to $2,000.

  • Phase 1: $2,000 Cash-Back incentive
  • Phase 2: $1,500 Cash-Back incentive
  • Phase 3: $1,000 Cash-Back incentive

Additional incentives are available through the Property Assessed Clean Energy program, PACE, by providing home owners tax deductions through their property taxes. KPCC Southern California Public Radio has more information covering the PACE solar financing options and has put together a short audio clip summarizing the program.
